Feldenkrais classes
Starting in June at 5 PM.
Sam Nelson, our local Feldenkrais practitioner, will be available in the summer of 2011 to do his "Movement and Awareness classes", in the 3 season room at the Big House Stables. Feldenkrais can alleviate chronic pain, discomfort following injury, and everyday aches. The method can be used to recover from both injuries and the compensations that we make when injured, thereby restoring comfort and mobility. Functional integration is a one-on-one learning experience where you are guided, through gentle touch, in a variety of movement sequences. More information on Feldenkrais can be found at www.feldenkrais.com
A note to Susan from Laura Pyke
on Feldenkrais & Centered Riding:
"Wow, wow, wow!!! What a difference! I feel like a different rider. My body has held on to the feels I got last week and it's great. I was able to feel how to use my left side differently during some arena work. When Roper picked up a canter I sat it so much better than I have been lately. Today we rode on the trails and I was able to incorporate all the lessons - yeah! But I sure got tired after a while, I was using different muscles."
"I also forgot how fun your lessons are and how positive you are:) As you know, I always try too hard and push myself and I kept hearing you say "be kind to yourself". So I gave myself permission to do that." |
